  4. Keluarkan petai dari kulitnya dan rendam di dalam air bersih. Bersihkan petai untuk membuang kotoran dan lendir pada buah petai.
  5. Toskan petai yang telah bersih hingga betul2 kering.
  6. Masukkan ke dalam bekas bersih. Masukkan air dan garam. Tutup bekas dan biarkan 2 hari di suhu biasa. Selepas itu boleh la di simpan di dalam peti ais. Sedap di makan bersama sambal belacan atau budu dan nasi panas.
